From humble beginnings at the Chapel Bar in Islington (London), ‘Pulp Sessions’ in its first incarnation was born. The concept was simple; unearthing fresh dj talent and putting on quality events showcasing the latest electronic sounds in non-pretentious surrounds. Following the evolution, Pulp Sessions held residencies at two key landmarks in London’s underground, The Egg and the legendary Basement at Retox.

Following this period, a small brand entitled ‘S.A.S.H’ was christened. It was not till later down the track the brand would make a comeback and do so in a MASSIVE way, in a completely different country.

Following the pilgrimage route from island to island, Kerry called Ibiza home for some time, quickly establishing himself as a purveyor of underground house music, locking in residencies at EsVive and Itica rooftop. His ‘deep and bouncy’ stripped-down tech house gathered up crowds and began moving them to his groove along with a myriad of gigs around the Spanish island.

It was not till 2011 that the ‘S.A.S.H’ brand reared its horse head again, in Sydney Australia of all places, and has only been growing exponentially over the last three years with Kerry Wallace at the helm.

Now Sydney’s premiere Sunday day event, S.A.S.H carried the same ideology as Pulp Session, but on a much bigger scale. Over the past three years it has become a staple of Sydney’s scene, continuously pushing the envelope week in, week out.

Over this period, hosting a guest list which speaks for itself; Alex Niggemann, Axel Boman, Bjorn Wilke, Dixon, dOP, Heidi, Ian Pooley, INXEC, Jay Shepheard, jozif, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Nico Stojan, Robert Babicz, Ryan Elliot among countless others with support from Australia’s most decorated talents.

S.A.S.H continuously packs out its weekly event with dedicated revellers flocking through its doors in full expectation of nothing best the good vibes, quality tunes and best crowd Sydney has to offer and never being disappointed. All this amongst the sunny open air terrace of The Flyover in the warm Australian sun.

Alongside his weekly duties of promoter, touring agent and sets for S.A.S.H, Kerry also holds residency at the infamous institution of Chinese Laundry as well as frequent bookings for events like Subsonic Music Festival and Future Music Festival (Cocoon Stage) alongside guest’s the likes of Sven Vath, Maya Jane Coles and Guy Gerber.

    Matt Weir (S.A.S.H/Spice)

Instead of the fluffy stuff about why I started dj’ing and the rest, this is just a pure account of what I do and what I’ve done.  Saves you the reading time.

I’ve been dj’ing for about 6 six years now.  Started playing electro and got into deep  & tech house fairly quickly.  Played at some of Sydney’s biggest parties in the past including Kink and Sounds on Sunday.  I held a residency at another famous Sydney institution call ‘WHAM!’ until it closed in 2011.  I’ve held a residency at Sydney’s premier underground and after hours party ‘SPICE’ for nearly 5 years now and have supported the likes of Vincenzo, Claude Von Stroke, Omar S, Holger Zilske, Goshva, Spencer Parker and Will Saul over that time.

In 2011, I started running a permanent Sunday afternoon party called ‘S.A.S.H’ and to give you an idea of the music we push and play there, we’ve had guests such as Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Simon Baker, INXEC, Gwen Maze, Ian Pooley, MANIK, Roman Flugel, Gorge, Kevin Griffiths, Pig & Dan, San Soda, Tom Morgan, Desyn Masiello & Tom Middleton, Dixon, Blond:ish, dOP plus a shit load more.

I produce music with a couple of my close mates, Pete Nouveau & and Julien ‘YokoO’ Beltzung, with a releases out on Affin, Elektro, L’enfants Terrible, System Records and Taste Buds Digital.

I played at Sonar Festival 2013 in Barcelona at the Prime Numbers show supporting the likes of Trus’Me, Move D, Trevino, HNQO and a whole bunch more.

You can catch me weekly at S.A.S.H @ Flyover Bar as well as regularly at my other residency The Spice Cellar, along with the odd party here and there.

    Gabby

Few people can boast the musical ability that Gabby has in so many forms – physically, vocally & technically.

Her career began in the world of dance. Joining the esteemed Detour Dance agency in 2002, Gabby began performing as a professional dancer and choreographer both in Australia and overseas. She continues to choreograph and provide creative direction for some of Australia’s leading artists (incl Flume & Chet Faker), while cultivating the future talent of Oz at her Performing Arts School – Elevate Performing Arts (est 2008).

At the age of 19, Gabby’s passion for music led to an obsession with the decks, which swiftly saw her playing guest sets at a number of festivals, including ‘Future Music Festival’ & ‘Sensation White’ while holding residencies at ‘Kink’ and ‘Sounds on Sunday’ in her first few years of DJing. As a producer, her early forays into the studio led to ARIA chart topping releases under the pseudonyms – ‘Silverscreen’ & ’Abela’. Her first record was picked up by Ministry of Sound Australia in 2005, and she has since released on labels Bam Bam Muzik and Sintope Digital.

As a DJ today, she’s the lady of choice in Australia for any underground event. Her unique mix of weird, warm yet slightly wonky minimal, micro house and techno, creates an environment that both challenges & nourishes the mind while liberating the body.

As a resident DJ for S.A.S.H, Gabby has built an empire with her brothers Matt Weir, Kerry Wallace & Jake Hough. 2016 has seen their music reach the shores of Berlin, Paris, London, Ibiza, Geneva and Asia.

Production is Gabby’s priority right now, with an arsenal of new music to be released through the S.A.S.H label in 2017.

    Jake Hough

Having come across this gent many moons ago it was clear from the offset his sound was perfect for Sunday’s.

Mixing a tasteful selection of melodic and uplifting house and techno his forte lays in his ability to read crowds and continually feed off their reaction to guide his towards their appeal. Always pushing the envelope just enough to experiment with blends of sounds and tones to offer something different each set and give the crowd something special.

Frequently playing alongside Robbie Cordukes who always offered a perfect compliment for one another and never scared to dish out a cheeky classic in any mix.

Over the years we’ve come to expect nothing less than exceptional sets from the one we call ‘Hoffy’ which has secured his place amongst our residents !
