Fifteen years. One Saturday at a time.
House music. Funktion-One. No phones on the floor. No bottle service. The same thing we've done since 2011, on a different night of the week.
Origins
Founded May 2011, lifted from Chapel Bar in London. Sydney had just lost Sounds on Sunday and there was nowhere for the heads to land on a Sunday afternoon.
A niche gathering turned into a weekly institution that defined the city's recovery-era nightlife for over a decade.
The name
S.A.S.H officially stands for nothing. It was inspired by M*A*S*H during the naming process.
Fans filled in the gap anyway — Sorry About Sundays, Honey. Sunday Afternoon Sunday House. Saturdays Are Shit Hot. Sorry Ain't Seen Him. Take your pick.
Evolution
For years it ran as Day & Night — Sash by Day at The Greenwood Hotel's open-air sandstone courtyard in North Sydney, then Sash by Night at Home Nightclub overlooking Darling Harbour.
Late 2025: a new room. Sash Saturdays at Carousel Bar & Ballroom on Oxford Street. Same crew, same sound, different door time.
Sound
Funktion-One. Every event. No compromises.
Deep and chuggy through minimal and tech-house. House music first.
Culture
- No phones on the dancefloor.
- No dress code — but fancy dress is taken seriously, especially in April for the birthday.
- No bottle service. No VIP. The floor is the floor.
- A community that's been showing up for fifteen years.
Beyond Sydney
Melbourne. Brisbane. Byron Bay. Wollongong. Bali. Ibiza. London.
S.A.S.H Records launched in 2020.
